Fort Good Hope
Affectionately known to locals as "Fort No Hope", Fort Good Hope is actually a very beautiful place. The Mackenzie River runs by it (that small creek is NOT the great Mack). We fly in and out in small bush planes, so I was able to sit right up behind the cockpit... very cool, as the flight to goes over some stunning mountain ranges, and in the small Cesna Caravan you really get the feeling you're flying!

Oh how I'd love to fly over some of these places. Did you know that Mom (Margot) used to bribe the local pilots in La Ronge with sweets so they would take her flying? Also - apparently one time a water bomber friend of grandpas (who had had a bit to drink) dumped a load of water over their house. Grandma, no doubt, was not impressed. -Jessie
